Abstract
316,432. Birmingham Small Arms Co., Ltd., Hulse, F. W., and Briggs, H. July 24, 1928. Seat attachments for motor-cycles &c. comprise a passenger saddle 1, the front end 3 of the frame of which is detachably connected as by bolts 6 to the rear part 4 of the driver's saddle 5, the rear part of the saddle 1 being supported by springs 17 on arms 15 projecting laterally from a bracket 11 detachably secured to the bridge part of the mudguard stay 14. The bracket 11 is bridge-shaped, and is secured by a bolt 18 passing through the bracket 11, the mudguard 12, and the bridge part of the stay 14. The bolts 6 pass through the arms 8 of a U-shaped bracket 9 riveted &c, to the rear part 4 of the driver's saddle, and may be so formed as to constitute a pivotal connection between the two saddles. Alternatively, the two saddle frames may be rigidly bolted together, in which case the peak 19 of the saddle 5 is pivoted to the cycle. The peak of the passenger saddle 1 is disposed above the rear of the driver's saddle 5 as shown.
