Abstract

122,112. Fisker, P. A. May 17, 1918. Frame components, forms of, and applying and combining; tubular and like constructions.-Relates to a frame construction for motor-cycles and the adaptation of the frame for footboards, mudguards, mud-guard supports, and saddle supports. The tank 3 forms the upper frame member, the lower frame members 1 being formed of an appropriately shaped pair of tubes, bars &c., each composed of a single piece of metal, secured at their front ends while their rear ends are secured to flap-like extensions 4 on the tank which have a spring connexion 5 with the rear wheel hub 6. Footboards 7 with upwardly curved front ends are secured to the flanges of the motor &c. casing 20 in proximity to the lower frame members and with the casing form a mud-guard. A plate or plates 9 secured between the upwardly extending rear portions of the lower frame members form an additional mud-guard, and the usual rear wheel mud-guard 21 is secured to a lug 10 on the tank. The front end of the driver's saddle 12 is adjustably mounted on a support 13 on the tank, and the rear end springs 14 are mounted on the sides of the tank. The rear saddle 11 is mounted at its front end on a support 15 on the tank, and at its rear end on spring supports 17.
