Abstract
446,881. Bicycle frames. PEACE, H. W., 76, Pine Crest Road, Toronto, Canada. Nov. 1, 1935, No. 30194. [Class 136 (iii)] In a bicycle frame having a streamlined shape and increased resilience, the front steering- fork 23 extends well forward of the steering axis from the crown 21 and is curved downwardly and rearwardly to the wheel axle. The limbs of the fork 23 are secured in horizontal holes in a solid crown bracket. A curved upper bar 1 is connected to the seat tube 2 by a bracket 3 having side lugs 4 to receive a pair of resilient tubular fork members 5, which curve downwardly in continuation of the curve of the bar 1, their lower ends 7 being curved abruptly forward and connected to slotted end plates 11 for receiving the rear wheel axle. The ends of the plates 11 are secured in vertical slots in ferrules fixed in the ends of the fork tubes 5 and chain stays 15. Chain-tensioning screws formed with eyes for receiving the axle pass through studs secured to the plates 11 by nuts.
