527,390. Spring frames for motor-cycles. BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO., Ltd., and PERKINS, H. April 11, 1939, No. 10941. [Class 136 (iii)] A spring mounting of the telescopic type for the rear wheel of a motor-cycle comprises on each side a central, member arranged to receive the end of the wheel axle and provided with upper and lower tubular extensions slidably engaging upper and lower tubular members secured to the rear of the cycle frame, springs within the upper and lower telescopic parts, and means for limiting the telescopic sliding movement of the central member. A central member 1 having a slot to receive the end of a detachable wheel axle 3 is formed with upper and lower tubular extensions 4 sliding in lined tubular members 6, which are detachably secured to lugs on the rear of the cycle frame by clamps 21 and bolts 22. Springs 7 are interposed between the member 1 and end caps 8, which carry rods 9 provided on their inner ends with flexible buffers 10 to limit the movements of the member 1. Tubular sleeves 12 fixed by screws 13 to the member 1 prevent dirt from entering the telescopic parts. One of the members 1 is provided with :a rearwardly extending lug formed with a slot to receive a stud on the anchor plate 18 of the hub brake 19.
