566,012. Spring frames for cycles. HANCOCK, L. J. March 10, 1943, No. 3919. [Class 136 (iii)] A wheel suspension for a motor-cycle, motorised bicycle or like vehicle comprises a web 2 on each limb 1 of a fork forming part of the vehicle frame, spring- pressed plungers 8, 9 contained in a tube 3 rigid,with each web, and a pair of parallel wheelsupporting arms 10 each oscillatably mounted on a pivot 11 on one of the webs 2 and 'extending through slots 5 and between the plungers 8, 9 in the adjacent tube 3, road shocks being absorbed by the plunger springs 6, 7 which operate in conjunction with frictional shock - absorbers arranged around the pivots 11, each shock-absorber consisting of part of a web 2 a friction plate 15 and friction discs 16 which engage the adjacent arm 10, the web 2 and the plate 15. The plungers 8, 9 engage camshaped parts 14 on the arms 10 which are slotted at their outer ends to receive the wheel axle 13. The springs 6, 7 and tubes 3 may be inclined instead of vertical.
