Abstract

504,447. Spring frames for motorcycles &c. PHANOMEN-WERKE G. HILLER AKT.-GES. Oct. 6, 1938, No. 28977. Convention date, June 30. Addition to 485,605. [Class 136 (iii)] In a modification of the spring mounting for a motor-cycle wheel described in the parent Specification, the rear wheel is carried by a U- shaped fork or stirrup mounted in the main frame near the yoke portion of the fork solely by pivots of which the inner parts are connected with the core and the outer parts with the periphery of rubber torsion springs. The rear wheel 1 of a motor-cycle is mounted in a U-shaped stirrup or fork 2 provided near its yoke portion 3 with laterally-projecting pivot pins 4, which are firmly secured to the inner bores of rubber torsion springs 6, the outer peripheries of which are secured to bearing sleeves 5 carried by a forked part 8 of the main frame 7. In a modification, the sleeves 5 are carried by the fork 2, and the pivot pins form the ends of a horizontal cross-member secured to the saddle-supporting tube of the main frame.
