Abstract
668,803. Cycle frames. MOTOM GES. Aug. 4, 1950 [June 12, 1950], No. 19566/50. Class 136 (iii). In a motor cycle the main part of the frame is provided by a single tube 1 which, at the front, is connected to the guide 2 for the steering column 3 and, towards its rear end, is of curved formation to follow the contour of the rear wheel mudguard, the rear part of the tube supporting both the rider's saddle 13 and a luggage carrier 10 or pillion seat. As shown in Fig. 1, the fork 7 of the rear wheel is articulated to a bracket 6 fixed to the tube 1. Telescopic tubular spring stays 8 are articulated at one end to the rear wheel axle and at the other end to a pin 9 fitted transversely in the tube 1. The rider's saddle 13 is articulated to a bracket 11 fitted to the central part of the tube 1. The rear mudguard is directly attached to the curved portion of the tube. A tail light is formed by a bulb 14 fitted inside the tube 1, which is closed by a cap 15 of translucent material. An aperture 16 is cut in the tube 1 near the bulb 14 to illuminate the number plate. In a modification shown in Fig. 4, a length 1<SP>1</SP> of the tube 1 is formed parallel to the ground and then bent sharply upwards in proximity to the rear wheel. The fork 7 is articulated to the ends of a pin 17 fitted transversely in the tube 1, and the saddle 13 is articulated to a bracket 18.
