Abstract
687,329. Motor-cycles. MOTOM GES. July 26, 1951 [May 11, 1951], No. 17758/51. Addition to 668,803. Class 136 (iii) In a modification of the motor cycle frame of the parent Specification which includes an underslung intermediate portion parallel to the line joining the axles of the wheels, the intermediate portion 2 has an extension running rearwardly beyond the point at which the curved rear part 3 of the frame begins, and this extension has an end opening 7 facing towards the rear wheel. The extension of the frame portion 2 is obtained by welding a small pipe section 16 (Fig. 3) in an opening formed in the outer curved surface of the junction between the portions 2, 3 of the frame. The pipe 16 has the same diameter as the portion 2. In a modification (Fig. 6), the portions 2, 3 are initially separate and are welded together near the free end of the portion 2. The rear wheel axle is supported by a triangular system 10 pivoted at 9 to the frame and articulated at 11 to a rod 12 which passes through the opening 7 in the extension of the frame portion 2. A cylindrical spring 14 surrounds the rod 12 and is supported between a plate 13 at the end of the rod and a fixed abutment 15 inside the part 2.
