447,413. Cycle &c. frames. COVENTRY-EAGLE CYCLE & MOTOR CO., Ltd., Foleshill Road, MAYO, A. E., Lynton, Rochester Road, and MAYO, P. L., 5, Radford Road, all in Coventry. Nov. 15, 1934, No. 32847. [Classes 79 (iv), 136 (i), and 136 (iii)] A cycle or motor cycle frame comprises a pair of flanged longitudinal plate members 1 of pressed steel or sheet metal extending horizontally in substantially parallel vertical planes and secured together by a transverse plate 4 and bolts 5 with spacing sleeves. Triangular plates 12 bolted to the plates 1 and connected by a cross-bar 14 with spacing sleeves, carry the seat, angle bar top-rails 15 extending from the cross-bar 14 to a lug 8<a> on the steering head 6. The steering head is bolted by means of a flange or apron 8 to flanges 7<a> on a pair of convergent triangular plates 7 bolted to the ends of the plates 1, the steering head connection being reinforced by a number of laminated plates 9 which, together with a leg shield are bolted to the apron 8 and flanges 7<a>. A silencer casing 21 closes the bottom of the framing. The plates 1 extend beyond the rear wheel to support the mudguard 23, number plates 24 and rear lamp. Clearance openings 18 are provided for the rear wheel axle which may be mounted on springs 16 inside or outside the plates 1.
