Abstract

596,024. Spring saddle supports. WOOLER, J. July 13, 1944, No. 18019/45. Divided out of 13435/44. [Class 136 (iii)] In a motor-cycle having duplicate saddle posts telescopically mounted in a pair of tubular supports accommodating coil springs and disposed in laterally spaced parallel, relationship with respect to the frame, the tubular supports form integral elements of the frame structure. As shown, the saddle 1 is carried by a pair of posts 9 slidable within the twin down tubes 4, a compression spring 8 being disposed in each down tube so as to provide a resilient saddle mounting. The front end of the saddle may be secured to the cross bar 7 by a leaf spring 13.
