In a telescopic front wheel fork for cycles and motorcycles, in which the movable tubes 5 are connected to one another by a U- shaped stabilizing yoke 7, each substantially straight and of the stabilizing yoke 7 made from tubular material is releasably secured in a tubular socket 6 running parallel to the movable telescopic tube 5 and having an elongated flangelike wall 6<SP>1</SP> part welded to the movable tube at a distance above the fork bracket. The ends of the yoke 7 are secured in the sockets 6 by screws 8.
