Abstract

562,008. Frames for carrier cycles. PASHLEY, W. R. Nov. 16, 1942, Nos 16151 and 16152. [Class 136 (iii)] A frame for a carrier cycle comprises a head tube 10 and seat pillar 11 detachably connected together by upper and lower frame units 12, 13, the upper unit 12 consisting of two adjacent tubes 14 or members extending continuously from the head tube to the rear parts 40 of the chain stays and forming the top bar and back stays 15 of the frame. The tubes 14 are connected at their forward ends by a bolt 16 passing through a lug 17 on the head tube and secured to the seat pillar 11 by a contractible clip 20 having a lug 21 through which extends a securing bolt 22. The lower unit 13 also consists of a pair of adjacent tubes 25 or members which diverge rearwardly and have their forward ends spaced widely apart and connected by a transverse member 28 secured to the head tube 10, the tubes 25 being also connected to the seat pillar 11 by a bracket 35 and, rearwardly thereof, flattened to form the chain stavs 39. The carrier frame 33 incorporates two side members 43 which are attached by the bolt 16 to the forward ends of the tubes 14 while the rear ends of the frame are bolted to the ends of the tubes 25. Specification 562,007 is referred to in the second Provisional Specification.
