Abstract

374,036. Knitting-machines. HOLMES, H. H., ROBINSON, R. H., and WILDT & CO., Ltd., Adelaide Works, Leicester. Feb. 28, 1931, No. 6337. [Class 74 (ii).] Means are provided for closmg a yarn-gripper associated with a yarnfeeder of a knitting- machine at a time when the needle 120 which is the last to take yarn 16 from the feeder is approximately at the knocking- over point. Breaking stress is thus imposed on the varn 16 as or immediately after a loop a of the previous course is knocked over on the last needle 120 to take the yarn 16. At this time the yarn is lapped sharply round a bight of the previous loop and will be snapped off close to the fabric. The yarn gripping and feeding means are preferably as described in Specification 367,410.
