Cams. - A stitch-drawing cam 19 for use principally in the knitting-machine with fibre feeding attachment described in Specification 156,197 has the inclined face 19a formed with a depression 20 which causes the speed of descent of the needles to be slowed down at the time when a thread and fibre loop is being drawn through a previously formed loop in the formation or casting of a stitch. This relievesthe strain upon the needle hooks and material. Flat fabrics for rugs, carpets, blankets, &c. may be knitted.
