Abstract
393,489. Knitting. HEINITZ, W. R., 24, Neefestrasse, Chemnitz, Germany. Nov. 16, 1932, No. 32438. [Class 74 (ii).] Relates to a method of knitting upon a flat-bed machine wherein the fabric is widened by more than one loop in each widening course. The thread is passed round the outer needle 9 of the added needles 9, 10 and is presented to the hook side of all needles 9 .. 28 for forming the course d, but is not pressed off the needle 10, so that in the formation of the next course e, a double loop is formed on that needle. Alternatively the double loop may be formed on the needle 9. When the double loop is formed on the end needle 9, the needle 10 may be withheld from the presser at that course, so that a double loop is formed on the needle 10 in the succeeding course f, Fig. 7.
