Abstract

494,723. Knitting. HILL, F. April 27, 1937, No. 12057. [Class 74 (ii)] A multifeeder cylinder and dial machine has one set of cams, e.g. the dial cams, formed with concentric portions K for holding the needles inoperative at alternate feeds, and with deep recesses g enabling the needles to draw long loops at the intervening feeds. The cams of the other bed operate the needles to form normal stitches at each feed and the fabric produced has wales of normal stitches m, n of cotton, silk or the like and wool on one face and long stitches M of cotton &c. on the other face. The cotton yarn may be knitted under greater tension. Specification 15916/09, [Class 74 (ii)], is referred to.
