Abstract
367,410. Knitting-machines. HOLMES, H. H., ROBINSON, R. H., and WILDT & CO., Ltd., Adelaide Works, Leicester. Oct. 17, 1930, Nos. 31190/30 and 2582/31. [Class 74 (ii).] A yarn-feeder 11 which is movable into feeding and non-feeding positions has a yarngripper 19 combined with it as part of its structure. The gripper 19 is closed by a spring plate or other abutment 23 which presses upon the gripper as the feeder is moved to non-feeding position, and :.s normally pressed on to the feeder by a light spring 24. The feeder 11 is actuated so as to introduce its yarn, e.g. a splicing yarn, to a needle 12 that is approximately at the bottom of the stitch cam so that the latch or beard has commenced to close. A cutter may be e provided, so disposed that the yarn is drawn into engagement with it substantially simultaneously with the closing of the gripper. A yarn-trapper and a guide may be arranged in such position that movement of the feeder into the feeder position passes the yarn over the guide so that the guide eliminates slack in the length of yarn extending from the trapper to the feeder.
