Abstract

476,620. Knitting - machines. HOLMES, H. H., and WILDT & CO., Ltd. Jan. 13, 1937, No. 1075. Addition to 465,358. [Class 74 (ii)] The two-part cam described in the parent Specification for actuating patterning instrumentalities comprises at least one part that is movable into and out from operative position in directions towards and away from the pattern instrumentalities. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the cam comprises a fixed part 21 and a part 22 that is slidably mounted on a rib 25 and is movable radially to the needle cylinder under control of two sliders 34, 35 and an adjustable striker plate 39. When the slider 35 is operated an arm 36 thereon moves the cam 22 radially, against the action of a spring 37, into operative position in which it is held by a catch 41 engaging a notch in the slider. The catch 41 is withdrawn by a recessed portion 40 of the slide 34 when the latter is moved inwardly against the action of a spring 38 by the striker 39.
