[Class 74 (ii).] The unitary yarnfeeding device of the parent Specification, for a superposed needle-cylinder machine, is provided with a yarn-guiding slot 32 or other passage providing spaced guiding surfaces, one or other of which guides the yarn during reciprocatory knitting, and a second yarn-guiding passage 34 spaced midway between the spaced guiding surfaces. A feeding device for feeding two yarns wherein one yarn-guiding passage 37 may be adjusted with respect to the other passage 35 may also be provided. In one form the arm 42 containing the passage 37 is raised or lowered with respect to the needle cylinders by a lever 48 and pin 46, while the arm 40 with the passage 35 is held at one level by a stud 50 passing through a slot 52 in a stationary plate 26. In a modification, a passage such as 34 is held over the slot 32 by an arm which permits adjustment of the position of the passage 34 axially of the machine, and lengthwise of the arm 22. The machine may have a latch guard 60 as described in Specification 247,334, and to prevent striking of the latches by the feeders an arm 64 carried by, or formed integral with, the arm 42 is provided which closes the lower portion of the V-shaped recess 62 in the latch guard when the feeding device is in operative and inoperative positions. The ends of the slot 32 may be curved upwardly.
