Abstract
368,404. Knitting-machines. ROBINSON, R. H. and WILDT & CO., Ltd., Adelaide Works, Leicester. Dec. 10, 1930, No. 37314. [Class 74 (ii).] A member 45 is provided for engaging a yarn withdrawn from knitting, and placing it in position to be caught in the trapper 36, 37. The member 45 travels on the outside of one of the gripping members of the trapper as it moves to engage the yarn, but passes between the gripping members as it withdraws the yarn. One gripping member 36 is preferably rigid, while the other member 37 is resilient and presses by its resilience against the member 36. The resilient member 37 comprises two strips having downwardly projecting extensions 39, 40 which serve to guide an upwardlycranked portion 46<1> of the member 45 between the trapper members in its outward movement. A cutter 54 may be provided. Each of the yarn feeders 14 may be operated by pinion 15 or sector and rack 16, the racks 16 being formed upon plates 17 having butts 18 for selection by a pattern member 19. A detent 21 may be provided for locking all the racks 16 in selected position. A yarn projector sliding alongside an outer plate 17 may be provided for moving the yarn of an introduced feeder 14 into a position to be taken by the hooks of the needles.
