348,114. Pipe joints. BERRYMAN, W., 94, South Street, Ponders End, Middlesex. Feb. 6, 1930, No. 4038. [Class 99 (i).] A swivelling pipe joint comprises a socket a and spigot b having conical or other bearing surfaces a<2> which are kept in engagement by a gland d which screws into the socket and compresses packing c against a collar b<1> on the spigot. In a modification a ring d‹, Fig. 2, screwed into the socket, bears against the collar b<1>, and is locked by a ring f against which the packing is compressed. The gland is locked in each case by a nut e. Specification 13770/05, [Class 99, Pipes &c.], is referred to.
