Abstract

540,375. Pipe joints. GULLICK, Ltd., and SEAMAN, T. April 10, 1940, No. 6442. [Class 99 (i)] A swivelling joint comprises a socket 10, a spigot 14 having a cupleather 24 secured thereto, a flanged split ring 18 engaging collars 16 on spigot and socket, and a retaining ring 21 secured to the split-ring by cotters 22. An antifriction washer 17 is placed between the collars 16. In connecting aligned pipes the spigot is in the form of a plug having a cup-leather at each end and a central flange which is clamped between collars on the pipe ends. Specification 437,208, [Group XXI], is referred to.
