[Class 99 (i)] In a joint in which a coupling member 5 and a sleeve 16 have clamping faces 7, 18 conforming substantially to the inner and outer faces of the flared end of a tube 9, the face 7 has an annular groove 20 and the face 18 has an opposed annular rib 21, the inner walls of rib and groove being substantially parallel to the tube axis and spaced radially a distance equal to the thickness of the tube end. A coupling nut 11 and the sleeve have coacting shoulders 13, 17 or the nut and sleeve may be integral The coupling member 5 may have an internally screw-threaded socket, the sleeve taking the form of a gland nut having the rib on its inner end or on a separate collar.
