557,950. Pipe joints. WINBY, I. S. Oct. 21, 1942, No. 14797. [Class 99 (i)] A hose pipe is drawn up on the tapered spigot 7 of a coupling member 1 by a sleeve-nut 5 and ring 14, the end of the hose being forced into a recess between the spigot and a sleeve extension 11 of the coupling member. The sleeve 11 has a lining 12 secured by shrinking, soldering &c. and having an internal surface inclined in the same direction as that of the spigot. The sleeve and spigot are stepped or otherwise serrated.
