Abstract

534,266. Pipe joints. COWDREY, C. L. Jan. 24, 1940, No. 1464. [Class 99 (i)] A resilient joint comprises rounded flanges C on the ends of the pipes, a rubber sleeve D into which the pipe ends are inserted leaving a substantial clearance between the ends, flanges C<SP>1</SP> abutting the ends of the sleeve, and a band clip G compressing each end of the sleeve between the pipe flanges. A split ring F between sleeve and clip is corrugated and has a flange or tongues F 3 engaging the flange C<SP>1</SP>. Between the flanges the pipe is corrugated at C<SP>2</SP>. The sleeve has a spherical central part and may be covered and reinforced by metal braid. Specification 465,724 is referred to.
