465,724. Pipe joints. COWDREY, C. L. Nov. 7, 1935, No. 30823. [Class 99 (i)] A pipe A is connected to another pipe or pipe fitting A<1> by a rubber sleeve E which is compressed around the pipe ends, or around circumferentially-grooved sleeves B, B<1> fitted thereon, by a band clip G. The sleeves B, B<1> are provided with rounded end flanges D which, when the joint is assembled, are spaced to define a clearance H, and also with flanges C for preventing axial spreading of the rubber sleeve during compression. A split or divided metal ring F, Fl is preferably located between the rubber sleeve and band clip.
