Abstract
430,543. Pipe joints. TRIGGS, W. W., 57, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.-(Hayes, J. H. ; 30, Rockefeller Plaza, New York, U.S.A.) May 30, 1934, No. 16097. [Class 99 (i)] In a pipe joint in which a sealing ring 1 has a series of separate annular sealing projections 5 embracing the end of each pipe and pressed against the pipes by reason of fluid pressure in a groove 6, the inner faces are perpendicular to, and the outer faces inclined to the axis of the ring. The edges 3<a> of the ring are normally of greater diameter than the pipes but are compressed thereon by the clamp 8. The ring may have an annular cavity 2.
