[Class 99 (i)] In a pipe joint in which self - sealing rings embracing the pipe ends are contained within a housing h, two rings e, f, are employed, the outer lip of each ring enbracing a pipe end and the inner lip of each ring embracing a ring c located between and spaced from the pipe ends. The housing comprises semicircular clamps grooved to receive each and secured together by four parallel bolts. The ring c may be centred by groove and tongue engagement of the ring and housing. Specifications 149,381, 167,265, 230,957, 264,095, [all in Class 99 (i)], and 381,653 are referred to.
