527,690. Pipe couplings. COCHRANE, R. J. April 19, 1939, No. 11812. [Class 99 (i)] Coupling cup-shape members 18, 18a each carrying packing 14 which bears against spherical surfaces 12, 12<SP>1</SP> at each end of an inner ferrule 10 are enclosed by a housing 26, 28 which bears against external spherical surfaces 24 on the coupling members. Annular projections or washers 36, 36<SP>1</SP> prevent the ferrule being forced through the coupling member and rings 38, 38<SP>1</SP> hold the packing in place.
