Abstract

862,945. Pipe &c. couplings. AVIMO Ltd. March 7, 1960 [April 24, 1959], No. 14007/59. Addition to 828,964. Class 99(1). The self-sealing coupling described in the parent Specification is modified in that the movable resilient valve member 7 is provided with a forwardly projecting resilient annulus 19 adapted to have sealing engagement with an annular seating disposed within an interior recess 20 in the plug element 11 of the coupling, the recess 20 providing a surrounding protective wall 18 for the seating. The socket and plug parts 1, 11 of the coupling are secured by a bayonet connection comprising pins 21 secured in radial bores in the plug 11 and engaging in slots 24 formed in a sleeve 3 screwed on to the socket 1.
