Abstract

1,083,141. Pipe couplings. ROLLS-ROYCE Ltd. April 29, 1966 [Feb. 19, 1965], No. 7406/65. Heading F2G. A sealing ring 16 of resilient material and rectangular cross-section is disposed between a ferrule 5 secured to a pipe 3 and a sealing sleeve 11 secured to the ferrule with a limited degree of freedom of relative movement therebetween by a retaining sleeve 17 having a flange 21 which bears against the flange 12 of the ferrule and is secured therewith to a body provided with an aperture aligned with the pipe bore. The sleeves 11, 17 have interengaging flanges 5, 20, and expansion of the sealing ring axially is limited by a flange 9 on the sleeve 11.
