Abstract

484,553. Hose couplings. OLSSON, J. I. Sept. 29, 1937, No. 26386. Convention date, Sept. 29, 1936. [Class 99 (i)] In a hose coupling of the type having identical coupling members 3 with peripherally extending curved claws 8 and in which the claws on one member are passed through gaps between the claws on the other member and the members rotated so that the claws engage, and having resilient members 11 pushing the coupling members apart and thus holding the claws in. engagement, there are provided at least two rows of claws one behind the other in an axial direction. The members 11 may be resilient metal rings of the cross section shown in Fig. 5. The hose 1 is attached to a coupling member by pushing it between the nipple 2 and the sleeve 5 on the coupling member. The sleeve 5 may be integral with or welded to a flange 4 on the coupling member or alternatively it may be slipped over the coupling member and have a flange 12<1> abutting against the flange 4. The sleeve may be provided with projections 6 and longitudinal slots around its periphery so that it holds the hose securely.
