Abstract

373,678. Hose couplings. BOWEN, T., 21, Bryngolen Crescent, Ferndale, Rhondda, Glamorgan. March 6, 1931, No. 6986. [Class 99 (i).] The ends of a broken hose pipe are coupled by a metal band clip. A which is tightened by screws C to compress the hose ends on to an internal ferrule D formed with an annular projection E against which the said ends are adapted to abut. The clip is provided with a metal lining B which has its sides cut to form small projections H which are bent sharply at rightangles ; these projections bite into the hose ends and ensure the security of the coupling.
