Abstract

472,773. Pipe joints. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO., Ltd., and BOUGHTON, E. B. May 16, 1936, No. 13937. [Class 99 (i)] A flexible pipe connection comprises a resilient sleeve 16 surrounding the pipe end and bearing against an external flange 15 of the pipe, the sleeve fitting within a socket 10 and being retained by means such as a washer 17 and a split spring ring 19 having a handle 20 and engaging a groove in the socket. Clearance is, provided between the flange and the base 15 of the socket, which may both be conical. To render the sleeve more flexible a recess 26, Fig. 3, may be provided.
