[Class 99 (i).] A conduit A is connected to a conduit box 1 by a deformable resilient packing sleeve 8 compressed in the stuffing-box 2 by a gland 6, split angle-rings 9 being arranged at each end of the packing. In a pipe joint, Fig. 5, a packing sleeve 8 is provided on each pipe and compressed by a single gland 6 in a sleeve or box 11, a spacing ring 14 being provided between the pipe ends.
