711,610. Pipe joints. CANIVET, G. july 20, 1951 [Nov. 15, 1950; May 28, 1951], No. 17236/51. Class 99 (1). Each end of a sleeve 3 surrounding the pipe ends 2 is packed by a pair of rings 5, 7, the ring 5 being pressed into a tapered recess 6 in the ring 7 by a nut 8 or other means. The position of the rings may be reversed so that the nut engages the ring 5. The pipes abut a central ring 1 which may be integral with one or both of the inner packing rings. The sleeve may be flanged internally at one end, pressure being applied by a single nut.
