Abstract

575,629. Pipe joints. HARDWICK, P. M. Jan. 7, 1944, No. 368. [Class 99 (i)] A swivel pipe-coupling, especially suitable for a compressed-air hose-line, comprises a tubular stem 1 having a collar 3 and a coupling element 5, and a sleeve 4 having a flange 8, engaging the collar 3, and a coupling element 9, packing 13 being located' in grooves so as to be free from flange pressure. The packing comprises rubber rings folded over themselves and located by flanges 12 formed on either the stem 1 or, as shown, on the sleeve 4. The collar 3 may be replaced by a ring nut which is screwed on to the left hand end of the tubular stem 1, which may be integral with the coupling element 5.
