499,603. Stuffing-boxes; pipe joints. LEBLOND, A. Oct. 6, 1937, No. 27129. [Class 122 (v)] [Also in Group XXVIII] Cables, pipes, &c. are packed by a conical ring 6 of rubber, cork, asbestos, malleable metal, &c. pressed into contact with the cable &c. by an axially adjustable ring 7 having a conical bore. The packing ring may be split or in halves. Two such packings may be used to provide a connection between two pipes 11, 21. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 11248/13, [Class 99 (i)].
