452,383. Stuffing-box packing. KERMODE, W. M., Soho Works, Allerton Road, Bradford, Yorkshire. Feb. 21, 1935, No. 5534. [Class 122 (v)] In packing, especially applicable for pipe joints, and of the type in which packing rings 4, 5, contained in casing rings 6, are pressed axially towards an abutment 7, the axial pressure is exerted by rings 16, 17 having conical or spherical engaging surfaces, one or both of the rings being split. As shown, similar packing may be arranged on the other side of the abutment 7. Specification 293,543, [Class 122 (v)], is referred to.
