677,180. Pipe joints. MIAG VERTRIEBSGES. March 22, 1950 [Oct. 1, 1948], No. 7115/50. Class 99 (1) To secure in a fluidtight manner between fixed pipe ends a pipe length 1 that may be slightly short, a tapered sleeve 3 having slits 4 at its outer end overlaps one end of the pipe 1, is drawn against a gasket 10 on a flange 7, and is clamped on the pipe 1 by a loose flange 5 having a tapered bore and by bolts 6. The flange 7 is secured with interposed packing 13 by bolts 8 to the pipe flange 9.
