Abstract

227,372. Maddison, S. July 18, 1924. Locking - catches. - A locking device for plug cocks comprises a locking arm e mounted on the casing or other stationary part adapted to engage a recess d formed in the usual handle or thumb-piece at or near the axis of rotation. In the form shown in the Figure the locking arm is pivoted between a pair of lugs i formed on the cock casing and is provided with a tail-piece k and a finger-piece l for manipulation and with a stop lug o to prevent the arm being moved into an inoperative position. The part g of the cock may be formed as a flanged angle-piece and may be formed separately and screwed to the cock casing.
