Abstract

139,095. George, E. A. July 4, 1919. Ball and float valves.-A ball and float valve of the lever-operated slotted-plunger type is arranged so that the end of the lever e can be disengaged from the slot so that the plunger a can be removed endways for re-washering without dismounting the pivot. The slot c in the casing is extended for this purpose. The plunger is formed with a key b sliding in a keyway extension of the slot c, so that the plunger can only be re-inserted in correct position. To prevent the plunger from being ejected in normal use, a cap is screwed on the casing at d' to act as a stop. For a shallow cistern, the lever e is jointed at i and kept normally rigid by a sleeve j and screw nut k. By releasing the nut and sleeve, the lever can be bent so as to disengage the plunger.
