Abstract

Relief valves.-A relief valve particularly applicable for use as a surplus steam valve and of the type comprising a piston-actuated valve member c subject to inlet pressure under the control of a spring-loaded auxiliary relief valve i has a control valve h on the actuating supply pipe g and has the outlet k from the auxiliary valve connected to the outlet side of the main valve. The loading spring for the auxiliary valve has an adjusting screw provided with an indicating pointer j adapted to work in a graduated slot. The main valve, spindle is connected by a fork l to a handactuating lever o, which lever is coupled by a link to a dashpot q and is also pivoted to a link r slidable over a locking bolt s adapted to be rotated to engage a cross slot r<1> to lock the valve in its closed position.
