Abstract

442,055. Plug cocks. BORGHOFF, A., 70, Avenue Eugene Plasky, Brussels. March 20, 1935, No. 8736. [Class 135] A rotary plug cock has its conical plug 5 maintained in seated position only by the action of a spring 8 between the plug and an axially slidable operating rod 6 mounted therein, and by the engagement of a radial pin 9 on the rod 6 with the wall of a notched slot 10, 11. A slot 9<1> in the plug 5 allows the rod 6 to slide outwardly so that the pin 9 is engaged in the notch 11 of the slot 10 in the closed position of the plug. The slot 9<1> and the pin 9 prevent relative rotation between the plug and the rod 6. In Fig. 3, the end wall of the notch is formed by the end of a screw 22 threaded in an ear 20 on the casing, the removal of which screw enabling the pin 9 to pass through a slot 23 so that the cock can be dismantled.
