[Class 135] Pressure on the conical plug B by the stuffing-box packing is prevented by a ring E screwed into the casing. Alternatively it may be supported in a recess in the casing, washers being interposed as required. Plugs are loosened by turning an additional handle G which engages a fixed nut member by means of a fine thread and is formed with a hammershaped lower end. A removable base D closes the lower end of the casing. Remote control of the handles F, G may be provided.
