Abstract

550,734. Valves. HUBBARD, A., and RUBBER BONDERS, Ltd. Sept. 26, 1941, No. 12522. [Class 135] A lift valve member, particularly adapted for use in bib-cocks comprises a metal member bonded by vulcanization to a natural or synthetic rubber member adapted to engage the valve seat. In the form shown in Fig. 1 the metal member has a stem b adapted to engage a socket c in the end of a screwed actuating spindle and a flange a at one end to which the rubber member f is bonded. The rubber member may be hefispherical, conical or frustoconical in form, and may have a bore extending upwardly from its seating face.
