Abstract

193,028. Ferrero, T. G. Feb. 13, 1922, [Convention date]. Lift valves; leakage, preventing; repairs, facilitating. - A screw.down valve is provided with a renewable screwed sleeve through which the screwed spindle passes, and with a seating surface on the back of the valve which seats against an annular seating on the cover of the casing when the valve is open. The partition a<1> is provided with a separate seating c having a bevelled edge v, and lugs w to facilitate unscrewing. The valve e is provided with a washer q of vulcanite, leather or wood fibre and has a bevelled portion u which contacts with the bevelled seating v when the washer is worn. The upper face of the valve is bevelled at k, so that it forms a closure against the cover b when the valve is open. The nut f through which the screwed spindle d works, is renewable, and is secured in posilion by a stud i.
