Abstract

227,293. O'Dell, T. E. Feb. 4, 1924. Valves or cocks fitted with independently-actuated supplementary valves. - In taps provided with an auxiliary valve to facilitate replacing worn valve washers 6, the lower part of the casing is formed with an externallyscrewed extension 9 to receive a nut 11 adapted to push the auxiliary valve on to its seating. The auxiliary valve may be tubular, as shown, or it may be solid of the mushroom type. In the normal use of the tap the lock nut 12 is screwed down upon the cap nut 11, as shown.
