Abstract

183,552. Clayton, H. April 22, 1921. Rotating valves on seats.-A lift valve member is adapted to be rotated slightly each time the valve is opened and closed by inter-engaging projections and teeth on the valve member and casing. The valve member d is rotatably secured to the screwed actuating-spindle a by means of a screwed ring f adapted to engage a spherical enlargement on the spindle. The ring f has a series of saw teeth o adapted to co-operate with one or more similar teeth p detachably secured to the bonnet q. The valve member also has one or more removable projections n arranged to engage a series of saw teeth j surrounding the valve seat e.
