Rotary disc valves. - In a rotary disc valve of the type shown in which the disc D, having an eccentric port E, is actuated by a toothed pinion H meshing with teeth on a portion of the peripheral edge of the valve disc, the disc D, or the seating face, is provided with recesses O to reduce the face area and thereby minimize the labour involved in producing the seating surface.
